And today we’re just going to brag on our nurse practitioners and how they lean on each other and use our actually group me forum to help each other out and share ideas and share success stories with one another.

I do kind of want to brag on all of our providers, and I’ve said it before. We have this ICP support group on a group app, and they go on here every day and talk about how to treat certain patients with certain conditions or what would you do in this situation? And everybody like, jumps in and helps people out. It’s like really seasoned providers helping the new providers, and they’re in like five different states and they’re all talking to each other. It gets me chill sometimes because they’re helpful and they just love supporting each other.

Even without COVID, it was nice to have but especially during COVID it’s nice to have the support group. I’ll tell you, like, where I’ve worked before, I was the only nurse practitioner, and so I didn’t have anybody that understood me that I could talk to. And now my boss is a nurse practitioner. And then I’ve got I mean, how many nurse practitioners do we have? 60. I mean, I have that many that I could talk to about anything, whether it’s work or non work.
Ashley Kirk
I love how everybody jumps in on that and helps each other out. And though these nurse practitioners have never met, they feel like they’ve know each other and they’re forming bonds and relationships, and they’re not feeling alone out there treating problems that they’ve maybe not seen as much before. So it’s nice to see everyone joining together and helping each other out. Because, like you say, we’ve got some newer new grad nurse practitioners and then we’ve got some very seasoned nurse practitioners that have been doing it forever and everybody is learning something from it. So it’s great.

But, you know, like, new ones are scared. Like, when you first come out, you’re nervous, and having somebody you know you can ask help for is fantastic. But also, we come from different backgrounds. So you have, like, me coming from ENT. I can help with that stuff. Tamika, she came from infectious disease. There’s people from all different backgrounds that you, like, have, people with higher knowledge that all of you. People with all the OB stuff. And Cindy. It’s helpful.
Ashley Kirk
Yeah, everyone’s strength really shines through, and then everybody can learn from that. So it’s really great.
